This project was one I had been thinking about, but knew it was going to
have to wait to be started. But then, Rich Zuchowski put some surplus
adults up for sale and I spotted a pair that would go well with each other.
Rich mentioned in his sale that he had hoped to get a sulfur hatchling from
the female, but never did. Since sulfurs aren't my ultimate goal, I hope I
have better luck with her. I will also add some of the snakes that were
already in my collection to the project, but I'll be able to get started sooner
with my new pair.
Update - 2007 has been a great year! Sugar Bear and Honey Bear
produced some terrific hatchlings, including a female caramel bloodred in
each of 2 clutches, totally beating the odds since only 2 eggs in the second
clutch hatched. I've had a high percentage of problem feeders in the clutch
and did lose one of the caramel bloodreds as well as most of the bloodred
siblings, but one bloodred female that really looks het caramel has started
eating and the second caramel bloodred is doing well so far. I also bred
Sugar Bear to 3 other females, 2 of which were het caramel, and I have a
nice variety of hatchlings for this project.

WWE's Sugar Bear This handsome hypomelanistic het caramel and bloodred male will help jumpstart this project.

WWE's Honey Bear This girl is normal het for amelanism, caramel and bloodred. I would really love a caramel bloodred hatchling in 2007.
