One of my personal favorites, amber cornsnakes are the
result of combining two recessive traits - caramel and
hypomelanism. The addition of hypomelanism to caramel
reduces the intensity of the black and heightens the yellow
influence of the caramel gene. Variation of exact
coloration in this morph is consistent with the cornsnake
"norm"....the range can be from a light golden amber to a
darker, almost greenish, brown.
