Caused by a separate single recessive gene, this color mutation shows an extensive
amount of yellow pigment over the reds and blacks of a normally colored corn
snake. In some instances, snakes that are heterozygous for caramel can also
show a greater amount of yellow pigment than normal, but this is not always true.
