Caramel and Butter Zigzag/Aztec Project
|
I currently have the potential to produce these, but this year, Murphy and
his Laws have given me only amelanistic zigzags or normally patterned
butters. Well, almost...one butter hatched out with the tiniest hint of a
zigzag pattern, but nothing what I would eventually like to produce. On
another note, the addition of my butter motley male into the breeding group
next year will bring me closer to also producing butter "mosaics" some
time in the future. But I'm starting to count my eggs before they're even
laid! Talk about jinxing myself!
Update - This project is currently on hold for the 2006 breeding season. I
am testing the one female amel zigzag het butter for being able to produce
zigzag offspring. My butter motley has died but has been replaced with a
younger male who won't be ready to breed until 2008. I don't know if my
old butter male is up to the task of breeding a zigzag female in 2007. He
hasn't really been interested the past couple of years. Maybe I'll breed my
female butter with my zigzag male in 2007. That is if I don't have any
other, more important plans for her.

WWE's Mermaid She's an amel het butter that didn't come from zigzag lines so I don't know if her pattern is even reproducible. A test breeding with a known zigzag male in 2006 will tell. And I need to get some current photos of her. This one is almost 2 years old!
