| Dilute Ashy/Cinder Project |
One of two new projects started in 2009, the idea of combining the dilute
gene and the ashy/cinder gene was an after-thought when I received not
only the male Ashy I had ordered, but a "freebie" female from Rich
Zuchowski. And since I had purchased the ashy male on impulse after the
escape of my anery Sunkissed male, why not replace my original idea of
pairing that anery Sunkissed with my dilute anery stripe as well! Hence,
my dilute ashy/cinder project!
My goal is to see if the addition of the dilute gene, and the often increased
pink and peach coloration seen in many of the dilute anerys, will not only
lighten the look of the ashy/cinders, but will also improve or enhance the
lovely mahogany coloration seen in many of the ashy/cinders.
