Dilute Project
This project originated with a pair of hatchlings that made their
appearance in 2005 from two separate clutches sired by the same male.
Both clutches contained definite anerythristics, anerythristic motleys,
ghosts, ghost motleys and one dilute anerythristic motley.   Rob and Louise
Stevens of Bayou Reptiles were the first breeders to recognize dilute
anerythristic motleys as something different and introduced them as Blue
Motleys.  Unfortunately, the morph wasn't officially recognized by the
general cornsnake community until around the same time my hatchlings
made their debut.  The dilute gene acts in a similar/identical fashion to the
gene that produces the blue color in several breeds of dogs.

So far, I've had a bad run of luck with the dilute anerythristic motley
hatchlings I've produced, but the 2 females I purchased from CCCorns in
2006 are growing well and hopefully will be ready to breed in 2009.  I've
kept many 2007 hatchlings that are dilute or possible het dilute and I've
started to add several other genes into the mix, including hypo, caramel and
bloodred.
