| Hypo Pewter Project |
I have only recently fallen in love with the charcoal and diffuse genes (the
original Blood Red corns held no fascination for me, but now that the other
color morphs are being combined with it, I simply had to have a pair). I
have an '04 pewter male and an '05 hypo het bloodred female currently in
my collection to start this project. I know other breeders already have
made this, or a similar pairing, and perhaps have already started on the F2
generation, so I'm a bit behind on this one. Should my funds improve, I
may add a few pewter het hypo, hypo het pewter or phantom het diffuse
corns to my collection. Otherwise, it will be about 5 years before I have a
chance of hatching out a hypo pewter.
Update - Several other breeders have already hatched out hypo pewters in
2006 and they seem to be everything I would expect from this combo. I'll
continue with this project on my own, possible adding another snake or two
to the project. Possibly even some Sunkissed, as that might be a great
addition to the project. I also have 1.2 '05 normals het hypo, bloodred and
motley that I could use in this project.
