Mosaic Project
"Mosaic" - At least that is what I hope to name this new morph, should
what I am picturing in my mind actually comes to be.  It is supposed to be a
combination of the motley and zigzag/aztec morphs.  I have seen some
results from other breeders, but the look is NOT what I'm going for.  Their
results lean more towards looking like banded motleys.  I, however, want to
eventually see a more zigzag/aztec dorsal pattern on the plain motley belly.
Unfortunately, I lost a potential founding female motley from a zigzag
parent that had a hint of the pattern I'm looking for.  I have a normal
patterned male het motley sibling to that female, as well as an older zigzag
het motley male whom I bred to another zigzag in 2005.  I kept a pair of the
best zigzag patterned hatchlings from that pairing, and hopefully, they both
turn out to be het motley.  I will continue trying to combine the two
patterns, hoping for some interesting founding stock, but this project keeps
getting the occasional set-back, preventing it from really getting off the
drawing board.  This will remain my personal pet project, but it will
perhaps be a long time of selective breeding before "mosaic" corn snakes
make their debut appearance.

Hatchling photo of the motley female I lost that came from
a zigzag het motley X motley pairing.  The broken pattern
seen on her tail half is similar to my eventual goal.
WWE's Gregg
Clutch mate to the above female motley.  I'm hoping
to eventually breed him to a zigzag het motley female.
WWE's Calyx
She's the 2005 holdback from a zigzag X motley het stripe
pairing.  I originally held back 1.2 from that clutch, but
needed to make room in my collection for other snakes.
WWE's Zack
Zigzag het motley male.  He was bred to a zigzag in 2005
and fathered some terrific zigzags/aztecs.  Hopefully the
pair I kept inherited his one motley gene.
WWE's Desdemona
The zigzag '05 daughter of a zigzag X zigzag het motley.  I'll
probably breed her to her brother first, but eventually to
her father (Zack) and to Gregg as well.
WWE's Oreo
The aztec '05 son of a zigzag X zigzag het motley.  This guy
will be involved with my zigzag/aztec line as well as my
mosaic project.
